After School Asst. Group Leader

The SACC-Asst Group Leader assists the Group Leaders and Site Coordinators with planning, execution, and overall operation of a high‑quality After school site. Responsibilities include promoting YMCA core values, encouraging lifelong learning, and demonstrating high‑quality member service to internal and external participants, families, members, and volunteers.

Director‑SACC

Assist in planning and execution of programs to meet the needs of the After school site and fulfill YMCA objectives. Provide compliance with Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) licensing procedures and regulations, work toward increased Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) levels, promote YUSA Healthy Eating Physical Activity (HEPA) standards, and meet all criteria for the CACFP food program. Offer reasonable accommodations to allow children with disabilities to participate in activities and meet each child’s individual needs per EEC and ADA.

Assist in supervision of program participants in accordance with the organization’s policies, EEC regulations, applicable laws, and QRIS Standards. Monitor and communicate with supervisors about all staff‑related EEC, QRIS, and South Shore YMCA requirements.

Build relationships with families and members, respond to inquiries, solve problems, create a supportive community environment, assist in recruiting and engaging new families, and connect families to the YMCA’s cause.

Work with the After school Director, Site Coordinators, and Group Leaders to ensure program facilities and equipment for children are safe, clean, adequately equipped, well‑maintained, and attractive.

Assist in engaging and working with volunteers.

Assist in YMCA fundraising activities/events and engage in collaborative relationships with community organizations to strengthen support and build community.

• Experience with school‑age children and EEC regulations preferred.
• Must be able to develop positive, effective working relationships with staff, children, families, volunteers, and school administrators.
• Must interact with family needs/concerns positively and professionally, reflecting an attitude that values diversity.
• Must meet EEC Educator Professional Development mandates, including at least one third of mandatory training that addresses diverse learners. PQ Registry must remain current and reflect all mandatory PD hours, trainings, and college‑level courses.
