Environmental Building Sciences Field Technician

Quincy, MA

Environmental Building Sciences Field Technician

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hazardous material surveys including asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, other hazardous materials, and indoor air quality.
  • Provide oversight of contaminated site remediation and hazardous building materials abatement.
  • Prepare field notes, photographs, and perform analysis and interpretation of field and analytical data.
  • Prepare technical reports for hazardous materials site assessments.
  • Support emergency response services, communicate and collaborate with others, manage workloads and records, implement health & safety policies, and travel.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Environmental Science or related field, or demonstrated equivalency.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial hygiene or hazardous building materials industry.
  • Asbestos, Lead, and/or 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification required.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other commonly used computer programs.
  • Familiarity with State Superfund and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong safety mindset and record of safe work practices.
  • Willingness to conduct asbestos, lead, and mold surveys, remediation monitoring, exposure monitoring, and specialized industrial hygiene projects.
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced environments, various weather conditions, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel up to 90% regionally and work nights or weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving history, and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to wear respirator, safety harness, and required PPE.
