Licensed Site Professional (MA – Hybrid)
John Turner Consulting (JTC), an environmental and engineering consulting firm serving New England, is seeking an experienced Licensed Site Professional (LSP) to join our Massachusetts operations.
This is a strategic hire for a senior-level environmental professional ready to lead, mentor, and grow a team, with flexibility to work in a hybrid schedule.
Your RoleIn this leadership role, you will oversee site investigation and remediation projects under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), supervise junior technical staff, and contribute to business development. You will bring a strong command of regulatory compliance at local, state, and federal levels, and have the potential to generate up to $1 million in annual revenue through project leadership and client management.
Responsibilities- Lead MCP-compliant environmental site assessments, investigations, and remediation projects throughout Massachusetts and New England
- Prepare and review technical documents including Phase I/II/III reports, risk characterizations, and Permanent Solution Statements
- Manage and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development and safety
- Interface with regulatory agencies such as MassDEP, NHDES, MEDEP, and EPA
- Support and drive business development, including proposal writing and client outreach
- Maintain responsibility for project scope, budget, and schedule
- Contribute to strategic planning and help grow JTC’s environmental practice
- 15+ years in environmental consulting with increasing technical and leadership responsibilities
- Current Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) required; additional licensure (e.g., NH PG) is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and grow a portfolio of work worth $1M+ annually
Strong knowledge of MCP, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, and Brownfields programs - Direct experience with New England environmental regulations and permitting
- Successful collaboration with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
- Experience managing and mentoring junior staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field required;
Master’s degree preferred
