Position Overview

Watts is seeking a highly motivated, experienced accounting professional to join its corporate accounting team in the role of Financial Reporting Manager. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Financial Reporting and manages a Corporate Senior Accountant. Located in Andover, MA, the role is hybrid (three days in office and two days remote).

The Financial Reporting Manager will work closely with the Company’s Chief Accounting Officer, financial leadership, and other business leaders throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives, US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the corporate close process (review of monthly journal entries and reconciliations) and work to streamline and standardize global processes where possible.
  • Review corporate budget and forecasting to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and understand variances.
  • Manage the accounting and administration of the Company’s stock‑based compensation expense and budget.
  • Oversee global accounting, controls and process requirements for lease accounting (ASC 842) and related software.
  • Prepare and review disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings; provide audit documentation to external auditors.
  • Prepare SEC and GAAP checklists for quarterly/year‑end close; review XBRL filings and maintain XBRL compliance.
  • Provide technical support to the Finance and Accounting team on U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting issues.
  • Research, evaluate and document technical accounting implications of complex or non‑standard transactions.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies to ensure consistency and compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Provide ongoing training on the Company’s accounting policies and new standards.
  • Assist in the implementation of new policies and procedures, and present to the Chief Accounting Officer as required.
  • Manage relationships with external and internal auditors and consultants.
  • Participate in SOX compliance efforts related to internal financial reporting controls.
  • Conduct balance sheet reviews at operating units, including quarterly balance sheet and cash flow analytical reviews.
  • Assist in special projects such as registration statements, debt offerings, 8‑K filings, etc.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to simplify, standardize and streamline external reporting.
  • Assist Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, and Investor Relations on ad‑hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Accounting; CPA required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm or a combination of public accounting and industry experience with financial consolidation/SEC reporting, preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to multi‑task and rearrange priorities.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes.
  • Excellent system and computer skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), SAP S4 Hana, and major ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with all levels and functions in the organization.
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Flexible, organized and able to work accurately under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Experience with large multi‑nation, manufacturing, public corporations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability; self‑motivated, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; effective writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Working Conditions

Location:

North Andover, MA. Employees will work in the office three days per week (Monday–Wednesday) and can work remotely two days per week (Thursday and Friday). Physical requirements include extended periods of sitting at a desk, typing, and using a keyboard or mouse.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $138,000 – $147,000 yearly.
