Who we are looking for

The Tax Manager job resides in the Mutual Fund Tax Group within Global Delivery. The job’s primary responsibility is overseeing the tax production work completed by our vendors for US Regulated Investment Companies. Communicating with clients and auditors as well as other internal stakeholders such as Financial Reporting, Treasury and Fund Accounting is a significant part of the work you will perform.

The team you will be joining is a part of State Street Global Services (SSGS). SSGS gives asset owners and managers access to the essential financial tools they need to deliver effective investment solutions. From core custody, accounting, fund administration and shareholder recordkeeping, to complete operations solutions and servicing for alternative assets like OTC derivatives, private equity and real estate, SSGS’ tools help our clients make better investment choices and act on growth opportunities.

• Oversee the services provided by vendors to ensure timeliness and appropriate performance standards are met.
• Effectively leverage Vendor and internally developed State Street tools to provide a high level review of Vendor deliverables.
• Keep clients informed of tax developments and other relevant facts that affect their funds.
• Successfully manage client relationships by consistently providing client’s timely and appropriate communication and services in relation to their needs.
• Effectively and appropriately respond to questions and inquiries from clients, team members and vendors.
• Coordinate scheduling of deliverables with vendors clients and funds’ audit firms.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5-10 years of mutual fund tax experience.
• Highly effective communication and management skills.
• Ability to thrive and function in a high pressure deadline driven environment.
