Overview
We are hiring a Digital Asset GD Cash Specialist to be a cash subject matter expert, participating in work streams to build digital asset operations within State Street’s infrastructure. You will share knowledge around current operational workflows, maintain alignment with GD Cash leadership, escalate concerns to functional leadership, obtain approvals for new models with functional leadership, and maintain alignment with digital asset operations leadership.
The role requires a risk-conscious mindset and proficiency in establishing an effective control environment. The ideal candidate should understand digital asset concepts (blockchain, digital asset types, decentralized finance, tokenization, etc.). A minimum level of curiosity to learn about digital asset servicing is expected. This role reports both to GD Cash leadership and digital asset operations leadership.
- Participate in work streams as a cash subject matter expert for digital asset operations across a portfolio of value streams to deliver digital asset capabilities.
- Foster alignment between value streams, manage interdependencies, and deliver value at an organizational level.
- Establish risk control procedures to ensure risk excellence across all capabilities.
- Partner with testing teams to develop, test, and enhance capability development in UAT and Production.
- Manage risks, resources, and stakeholder communications across the workstream.
- Provide regular communication and reporting updates to ensure transparency of workstream delivery to both functional leadership and digital asset operations leadership.
- Proficiency in the cash processing lifecycle, including understanding of SSIs, cash cut-off times, various payment types, and how to structure different types of payments, cash reconciliations, and the clearing of cash breaks.
- Knowledge of cash flows and the underlying systems involved throughout the payment lifecycle.
- Ability to escalate risks and decision points quickly to appropriate stakeholders across functional, digital, and project leadership.
- Ability to review and vet a new operating model for viability and alignment to existing infrastructure.
- Experience with payment initiation types (e.g., Fedwire and SWIFT).
- Experience in the multi-year Payments, Cash, and Custody (PCC) strategic development program to modernize and simplify State Street’s core custody technology platforms (preferred) or, at minimum, knowledge of PCC program objectives.
- Experience with the migration of State Street Cash Manager to Payment Hub and understanding of underlying payment initiation applications.
- Familiarity with payment initiation applications and the ability to perform required functions within the applications.
- Knowledge of or interest in digital cash topics (e.g., stable coins and tokenized deposits).
- Experience delivering as a project stakeholder with strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
- 7–10 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Ability to excel when faced with the unknown and to develop new methods.
- Excellent communication and escalation ability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with external stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with digital assets and wallets, distributed ledger technology, and tokenization (preferred).

Benefits and Additional InformationSalary range: $70,000 – $130,000 annual. The range applies to the role in the primary location; if the candidate works outside the primary location, the applicable range may differ.
