State Street is seeking a Bank Loans Settlements Specialist, Senior Associate for our Trade Operations team supporting middle office services for one of our largest and most complex clients. The Bank Loans Settlements Specialist, Senior Associate is responsible for accurate and timely processing, settlement, and reporting of bank loan activity. This role will manage complex settlement matters, partner closely with the client and market participants, and contribute to service delivery, risk reduction, and process improvement initiatives.

As Bank Loans Settlements Specialist, Senior Associate you will Process and monitor the full lifecycle of bank loan trades, including trade capture, confirmation, funding, settlement, and post-settlement follow-up, while resolving manual and automated processing exceptions. Coordinate timely settlement of par and distressed bank loan trades with the client, counter parties, administrative agents, custodians, and internal teams through clear and proactive communication. Maintain complete and accurate trade status commentary, identify settlement blockers, and provide material updates through scheduled client reporting and ad hoc communications.
Investigate and resolve trade breaks, cash and position discrepancies, aged items, and failed settlements. Escalate complex or time-sensitive issues with clear facts, ownership, and recommended next steps. Review settlement documentation and key economic details for completeness and accuracy, and support reconciliations across client, agent, counter party, and internal records. Prepare daily production metrics, aged-trade analysis, risk indicators, and client reporting. Identify trends and actions that improve settlement timeliness and reduce operational risk.
Contribute to new business, change, and continuous improvement initiatives, including procedure updates, testing, automation opportunities, and implementation of enhanced controls. Perform all activities in accordance with company policies, client requirements, established controls, and Standard Operating Procedures. Support audit and control evidence requests as needed. Share subject matter knowledge, support cross-training, and provide day-to-day guidance to colleagues while promoting a collaborative, high-accountability service culture.

BS or BA degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum 4 years of investment operations experience, including hands-on bank loan trade processing or settlements experience
Additional requirementsWorking knowledge of LSTA/LMA par and distressed loan processing, settlement documentation, market conventions, and common settlement risks; middle office or large institutional client servicing experience is preferred
