We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled SRE / Java Engineer to support a business-critical e-commerce platform focused on order fulfillment and transformation.
The ideal candidate will have strong Java development experience, cloud expertise, and the ability to diagnose and resolve production issues using observability tools.
This role requires leadership qualities, on-call availability, and a hands‑on approach to improving system reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Support and enhance a business-critical e-commerce order management platform.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in the order flow, particularly in fulfillment and transformation domains.
- Lead incident response and drive conversations to resolution using observability tools.
- Develop and maintain Java applications using the Spring ecosystem.
- Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Participate in on‑call rotations (~once every 4 weeks) as primary or secondary support.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to introduce new capabilities and minimize reliability risks.
- Deploy applications on virtual machines and Kubernetes environments.
- Work with Kafka streaming for order flow processing and troubleshooting.
- 3+ years of experience in Java application development (Java 8 or 17).
- Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and related Java frameworks.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable).
- Experience with observability tools such as Data Dog, New Relic, or Splunk.
- Strong understanding of API integration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Kubernetes and virtual machine deployments.
- Ability to lead and take ownership of reliability engineering tasks.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong experience with Kafka streaming (considered core to the role).
- Experience with automation tools such as Argo CD.
- Familiarity with incident management tools like Pager Duty.
- Background in e‑commerce applications and order management systems.
