The ATO AI Process and Automation Engineer, Assistant Vice President is responsible for modernization, optimization, and governance of the Approved Technology List (ATL) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes lifecycle through process management, workflow automation, and AI-enabled capabilities. This role is responsible for improving operational efficiency, strengthening control oversight, and enhancing the consistency and scalability of ATO activities across the organization.

The position partners closely with security, compliance, technology, audit, and business stakeholders to support timely authorization decisions, continuous monitoring, and audit readiness.

The ATO Process Engineer enables speed with safety—reducing friction while preserving regulatory and architectural integrity. This role is central to State Street’s shift toward simplified, platform based, and automated governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Approved Technology List Management
    • Manage the enterprise approved technology list (ATL).
    • Collaborate with ITAM Flexera team to evaluate the ITAM data set.
    • Partner with different organization functions to identify and manage the ATL ownership.
    • Coordinate the annual review process.
  • Process Orchestration and Stakeholder engagement
    • Operate and maintain the end-to-end ATO process, covering different phases.
    • Participate in New Technology Adoption Process (NTAP).
    • Collaborate with architecture, security, risk, and delivery teams to resolve issues.
  • Governance & control enablement
    • Ensure workflows enforce enterprise architecture standards, security controls, and operational readiness requirements prior to production release.
    • Support audit and regulatory expectations by maintaining clear process documentation, defined tollgates, and traceable approval artifacts.
  • Metrics, Reporting & Transparency
    • Define and track Process KPIs (cycle time, backlog, rework drivers, demand patterns).
    • Provide regular reporting on process performance and risks.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in technology process engineering, governance, or enterprise delivery roles.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, architecture governance, security risk processes, and production readiness.
  • Proven ability to operate in complex, highly regulated environments.
  • ITAM – Flexera system, ITAM and ITIL processes and principles knowledge.
  • Data analysis and analytics skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing ATO, RMF, security assessment, or compliance-related processes.
  • Experience implementing workflow automation, process improvement initiatives, RPA or AI-enabled operational solutions.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, control frameworks, security documentation, and audit support practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and cross-functional dependencies in a structured environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with ATO, ARB, or similar enterprise approval frameworks.
  • Financial services or large-scale enterprise technology experience.
  • Experience improving or automating governance processes using workflow platforms and developer portals.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of CoPilot AI based solution development.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $157,500 Annual. The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
