DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and maintaining multiple AWS environments.
• Writing Infrastructure as code.
• Troubleshooting technical or functional issues in a complex AWS environment to provide timely resolution with various applications and platforms.
• Managing several streams of work concurrently.
• Optimizing and helping improve existing workflows.

• Experience in Linux administration and troubleshooting (3 years).
• Experience with SQL and databases (2 years).
• Automation scripting experience with a few of the following:
  Terraform, JavaScript, Puppet, SQL, Bash, Python, Ruby, Makefiles (2 years).
• Experience with designing and deploying AWS Services like Elastic Compute (EC2), Storage (S3 EBS, EFS, Glacier, and AWS Storage Gateway), and RDS (1 year).
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of programming experience in a scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby.
• AWS experience, strong understanding of fundamentals.
• Strong Linux experience (3+ years).
• Solid understanding of Software Engineering and Computer Science principles (Be able to explain how you've used principles outlined here).
• Desires to minimize toil where possible through automation.

• Experience in AWS storage encryption, data at rest, and data in transit (1 year).
• Experience with open-source web services environments (HTTP, Nginx, and Apache HTTPD) (2 years).
• Experience building and deploying microservice-based applications in the cloud with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) tools and processes (1 year).
• An understanding of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform and Jamf.
• Understanding of internet security and data privacy best practices in highly regulated industries.
