The role will play a key part in supporting the organization's transition toward a modern cloud-based data platform leveraging Snowflake, Databricks, Apache Iceberg and open data architecture principles, while ensuring stability and supportability of existing platforms during the transition period.

Data platforms are central to State Street Investment Management's ability to serve clients, meet regulatory obligations, and run daily investment operations. The AVP role in this space ensures these platforms remain stable, trusted, and continuously improving, while protecting the firm from unnecessary operational and regulatory risk.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Support
* Oversee and work with data platform development teams & Product Owners to perform triage, root‑cause analysis, remediation tracking, and stakeholder communication.
* Ensure SLA adherence, escalation discipline, and timely closure of production issues impacting business, clients, or regulators.
* Partner with L2/L3 support and platform teams to stabilize recurring issues and drive durable fixes.
* Lead major incident coordination and stakeholder communications during production events.
* Drive root cause analysis, post-incident reviews and problem management processes to reduce recurring incidents.
Enhancement & Change Management
* Partner with Product Owners and data platform teams to document and manage stakeholder and regulatory demand.
* Use tools like JIRA to manage intake, prioritization, and delivery of enhancement and change requests with Product Owners and Technology Leads.
* Ensure changes follow change management, moratorium, and SDLC requirements.
* Balance production stability with platform improvements and regulatory changes.
* Support solution design and perform SQL-based data verification.
* Ensure platform data is accurate, reconciled, controlled, and fit for purpose.
* Serve as escalation point for downstream data quality issues.
Risk, Control & Governance
* Identify and actively manage operational, data, and delivery risks.
* Ensure compliance with data governance standards, regulatory obligations, and audit requirements.
* Support internal audits, risk assessments, and regulatory inquiries related to data platforms and operations.
* Drive clear documentation of processes, controls, and known risks.
Team Leadership and Future State Opportunities
* Provide leadership and oversight for BAU support activities, major incident management, and service improvement initiatives across the data platform ecosystem.
* Guide onshore/offshore BAU analysts and support resources.
* Coordinate with Product, Technology, Data Governance, and Operations to resolve cross-platform issues.
* Support capacity planning, knowledge transition, and support model improvements.
* Strong hands-on experience supporting Informatica-based ETL/ ELT and data integration platforms is required. Exposure to Snowflake, Databricks, and modern Lakehouse technologies is highly desirable.
* Grow professionally through hands-on work with the new open technology stack.
Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
* 7-10+ years of experience in data platforms, application support, and investment management.
* Strong experience managing maintenance & support, operations, and incident escalation in a regulated environment.
* Strong hands-on experience supporting Informatica-based ETL/ ELT and data integration platforms is required. Exposure to Snowflake, Databricks, and modern Lakehouse technologies is highly desirable.
* Solid understanding of investment data, reference data, or reporting flows.
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities, perform root-cause analysis, and drive resolution of complex production issues.
* Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills, with experience working across globally distributed teams and influencing without direct authority.
Salary Range:
$90,000 - $157,500 Annual
