We are hiring a AWS System Administrator/Dev Ops Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our client’s Medicaid Management application environment. This role requires expertise in traditional system administration (RHEL, Web Logic, Oracle) and modern Dev Ops practices on AWS. A key responsibility will be building a Proof of Concept (POC) to re-architect and rebuild the legacy application in a scalable, cloud-native AWS environment.
This position is hybrid in the Quincy, MA, area. Candidates must be able to commute to Quincy, Massachusetts, on a hybrid basis.

Responsible for providing technology initiatives, supporting on-going release activities and POC for MMIS application transformation as System Admin/Dev Ops engineer. Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in AWS cloud environments (EC2 instances). Administer and troubleshoot Java/J2EE applications deployed on Web Logic application servers, including configuration of JDBC data sources, connection pools, and JVM performance monitoring. Provide system-level support for Oracle RDS, collaborating with DBA teams for performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security using tools like Dynatrace, Cloud Watch and implement robust troubleshooting procedures for application and infrastructure issues. Build a Proof of Concept (POC) for rebuilding the legacy Java/J2EE application using modern AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3), micro services to improve scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (Shell, Python, Jython, WLST) to increase operational efficiency.
Work closely with development, testing, and operations teams to bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring smooth software delivery and knowledge sharing.
Proven experience as a System Administrator or Dev Ops Engineer managing enterprise-level applications. Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Cloud Watch, etc.). Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration. Proficiency in administering Web Logic application servers and supporting Java/J2EE applications. Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in AWS cloud environments (EC2 instances).
Familiarity with Oracle databases from a system administration perspective. Experience with version control systems, specifically Git Lab, and CI/CD practices. Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, etc.). Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments. Experience or familiarity with healthcare data management and compliance standards is a plus. Develop Proof of Concept (POC) for migrating code base from Web Logic to JBoss, and ORACLE RDS to Postgres Hands-on experience with Containerization Collaboration work with development teams to streamline the process.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, IT with 15+ years’ experience, or equivalent in healthcare administration setting. Pay $60 - $64 / hour W2 depending on experience #INDIT
