Overview

House Manager – Deaf Services

The Residential House Manager offers personalized, person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a group home setting. They provide strategic leadership, manage operations, and oversee the residential program. This position emphasizes maintaining high-quality, safe, and inclusive living spaces, promoting each resident’s well-being and achievements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and advancing organizational goals through effective program development, staff supervision, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the development of maximum independence, responsibility and self-worth
  • Integration of quality of life ideals into daily management and program development
  • Preparation and implementation of program goals, individuals service plans, progress notes and treatment plans
  • Nurturing a positive relationship with individuals, families, guardians and service providers
  • Providing for appropriate healthcare, medical and dental needs and promoting healthy lifestyle choices
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise a team of direct care staff
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with WORK Inc.’s company policy and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire and train employees
  • Planning, assigning, training and directing work
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • On call responsibilities including out of hours emergencies

Qualifications
  • Fluent in ASL (American Sign Language)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work, or related field, or one plus years related experience and actively enrolled in a related degree program, or minimum five years’ experience
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and a safe driving record
  • CPR/First Aid certification and safety care required (training provided)
  • Proficiency with basic technology and electronic documentation systems
