Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center.
As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Maritime team. You will work closely with the program leadership and a wide spectrum of cross‑departments to help build a team focused on solving hard problems and changing the industry forever. In this role you will be responsible for designing and supporting the integration of various subsystems and ensuring overall system performance meets the required specifications and standards.
Join our dynamic team and help us build the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) that will redefine underwater operations.
- Own cross‑functional coordination between the program and internal support groups (production, platform tooling), shifting the team from reactive to proactive interfacing
- Establish and maintain configuration management practices that enable rapid iteration without sacrificing rigor
- Lead requirements generation, analysis, and verification – finding the middle ground between structure and speed, with strong justification for any technical adjustments
- Drive qualification testing, design‑build‑test (DBT), integration verification, and acceptance testing activities
- Perform root cause and corrective action analysis for issues found during integration and test; adjust manufacturing test procedures as needed
- Maintain vehicle architecture documentation, interface definitions, and traceability across the product lifecycle
- Work across business lines and product teams to build consensus, minimize silos, and align on shared objectives
- Support sea operations, strategic technical planning, risk management, and proposal efforts as needed
- 7+ years in systems engineering, integration & test, or platform architecture
- Electromechanical hardware experience; able to troubleshoot across mechanical, electrical, and software boundaries
- Demonstrated skill in root cause and corrective action methodologies
- Software literacy: can read and analyze code (Rust, Python, or
C), understand dependencies, and engage in systematic analysis - Experience working within requirements frameworks—with the judgment to adapt them and the discipline to justify changes
- Strong cross‑functional collaborator: builds consensus, understands others’ processes, compromises between competing priorities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; brings structure to ambiguous, fast‑paced environments
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
- Ability to travel 10%
- Experience with qualification testing, DBT cycles, or configuration management for products transitioning to production
- Background in robotics, autonomous systems, medical devices, or high‑volume electromechanical products
- Defense experience is welcome but not required
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, R, SQL) or requirements management software (e.g., JAMA)
- Experience with Linux, command line interfaces, and software debugging
