Registered Nurse (RN II) – IR Cath Lab

Location and Hours

Work location:

Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

Work hours:

Full‑time, 40 hours weekly

Department Highlights

Our experienced and compassionate team in the Cardiac Cath / IR Lab cares for patients with cardiac, peripheral vascular or electrophysiology related disease. The unit also performs interventional radiology procedures such as vascular access, biliary and urinary interventions, and venous and arterial thrombectomy. Clinical staff are required to respond to a 30‑minute call, including STEMI call. The facility is Magnet designated, Joint Commission certified in chest pain, heart failure and stroke, and certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Texas Ten Step Member Mother Friendly Worksite.

Education
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
Experience
  • One (1) year experience as a clinical Registered Nurse or completion of an RN Residency program required
Licensure and Certifications
  • RN – Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within ninety (90) days required
Skills
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast‑paced environment
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
  • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations
What You Will Do
  • Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assess the patient
  • Plan the care of the patient
  • Intervene as appropriate and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporate age‑specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information
  • Maintain continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out‑of‑hospital transfers
