Job Description

At Walk In MD Clinic Urgent Care, you will be a key member of our clinical team and responsible for various crucial tasks that contribute to our clinic's overall effectiveness. This includes triaging patients, providing patient care within your scope of practice, and collaborating with the team to ensure the best possible care for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Contributing to the clinic's effectiveness by addressing short-term and long-range patient care issues, providing input during decision-making processes, recommending courses of action, and implementing physician directives.
  • Assessing patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and review of medical histories.
  • Identifying abnormal conditions by ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies.
  • Documenting patient care services and maintaining accurate records.
  • Administering therapeutic procedures such as injections and immunizations, wound management, and suturing.
  • Instructing and counseling patients on therapeutic regimens, family planning, emotional well-being, and promoting wellness.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean working environment by adhering to regulations and infection‑control policies.
  • Staying updated with professional knowledge through educational workshops and participation in professional societies.
  • Providing guidance and support for the professional growth of the health care team staff.
Training and Experience Requirements
  • A master's degree and certification by Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certifying body.
  • Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
  • BLS certified.
  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred.
Knowledge Of
  • Customer and personal services principles and processes.
  • Applicable federal, state, and local laws, including HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
  • Computerized information systems in business applications and clinical management systems (EMR).
  • Relevant drugs, their properties, and non-pharmaceutical patient care aid.
  • Current principles, methods, and procedures for delivering medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
Expectations
  • Collaborating proactively with other providers and health care practitioners to efficiently treat patients.
  • Creating clear, accurate, and legible medical records for each patient and adhering to the Centers' systems policy.
  • Working cooperatively with other practitioners to manage work schedules, vacation time, and on‑call schedules.
  • Supporting the development of the Centers' services to meet community needs and representing the practice in public and professional activities.
