Position: Nursing Jobs in Harrisville, PA

Responsibilities

  • Administer direct patient care activities, such as lab tests, treatments, and medication administration under the direction of the Nurse Manager, RN Supervisor, or physician.
  • Carry out clinical activities, quality‑control activities, and performance‑improvement initiatives supporting the Physician Practice.
  • Deliver direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the LPN Practice Act, hospital and physician practice policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
  • Collect patient health‑care data, including vital signs, weight, chief complaint, and pain assessment, focusing on physical, psychosocial, age, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Involve patients, families, and other health‑care providers when appropriate.
  • Complete patient care treatments/testing as ordered by physicians.
  • Administer medications and immunizations using appropriate routes and techniques specific to patient age.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Provide education and instruction within scope to patients and families.
  • Assist in assessing educational needs, identify barriers, supply materials, and document all education provided.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with physicians to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Prepare patients for examination, treatments, and procedures, and assist physicians with procedures as requested.
  • Ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital and physician practice policies.
  • Use two forms of patient identification before any patient care and label specimens with identifiers per policy.
  • Assist in compliance with all regulatory‑agency requirements and perform quality‑control testing for point‑of‑care testing.
  • Participate in non‑punitive medication reporting and adhere to infection‑control processes, including standard precautions.
  • Demonstrate leadership, problem‑solving, accountability, delegation, resource management, and patient advocacy; serve as preceptor or mentor to new hires and students.
  • Assist in maintaining or reducing departmental costs and in compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in continuous survey readiness for inspections and surveys.
  • Coordinate communications between patients/families, physicians, pharmacies, specialists, and insurance carriers.
  • Provide advice based on protocols and physician instructions, directing patients to appropriate levels of care.
  • Facilitate prescription refills, obtain prior authorization, and assist indigent programs per physician orders.
  • Support performance‑improvement initiatives, assist with data collection, and implement and monitor new initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe environment of care, ensuring supplies are replenished daily and areas remain clean.
  • Perform point‑of‑care testing as ordered and complete quality‑control testing; identify out‑of‑range results and follow up before testing.
  • Accurately record test results and prepare forms, copies, and responses per policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining the patient medical record for filing and retrieval.
  • Participate in all other office functions and duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
  • Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, and independent critical‑thinking.
  • Sound judgment and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex and controversial topics to a diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous LPN experience.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (CPR and AED).
  • Act 33, Act 34, Act 73 licenses with renewal.
  • FBI clearance.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor for other department positions.

Employment Type

Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on‑call, etc.).
