Position SummaryResponsible for delivering appropriate education and training to SIH Medical Group nursing and clinical staff and assessing competency for general clinical skills and specialty protocols designed for expected standards of care.
Education- Associate Degree in Nursing required (BSN Preferred) or Licensed Practical Nurse required if not ADN.
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- BLS.
- Technical Field: 5 years as a Registered Nurse, LPN.
- Develop and administer orientation and onboarding for new nursing and clinical staff for the SIH Medical Group.
- Assess and document annual and ongoing training and competency requirements for SIH Medical Group nursing and clinical staff.
- Proactively identify and respond to needs of the SIH Medical Group to promote quality patient care and safety.
- Deliver competency-based programs for nursing and support staff with a focus upon improvement of skills and retention of knowledge.
- Develop and provide educational opportunities that benefit clinical staff at all stages of their career development and learning needs.
- Assist with the development of IT training materials as it relates to nursing and support staff; ensure staff are educated and trained to changes in the EHR.
- Plan, prepare and maintain materials for use in nursing and support staff educational programs for accuracy and relevance.
- Incorporate principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing and support staff education programs.
- Develop and administer core education to address patient population specific nursing care.
- Teach content as needed and/or assigned within clinical expertise to facilitate orientation, staff development and/or safe practice.
- Identify and recruit internal and external resources (nurse, doctor, other specialists) for educational activities.
- Participate in work groups and performance improvement activities related to nursing and support staff for the SIH Medical Group.
Commensurate with experience: $59,904.00 - $92,851.20
