Job Overview

Devereux Florida provides services to children and adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral health needs who live on‑site while in treatment. This Registered Nurse position is responsible for ensuring client care by providing medications, ensuring regular medical checkups, keeping medical files updated, and maintaining open communication with clients’ families and medical staff.

Part‑time or full‑time. Exact schedule:
Sunday 7a‑11p, Monday 7a‑11p, and Friday 3-11p.

Starts at $32.00–$37.30 per hour, based on education and experience.

• Administer medications and monitor adverse effects.
• Conduct regular medical check‑ups.
• Keep accurate medical records and file updates.
• Communicate with clients’ families, doctors, therapists, and other nurses.
• Support a therapeutic environment and preserve safety and well‑being of clients.
• Ensure adherence to abuse‑prevention policies and cooperate with authorities as required.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing:
  Associate’s Degree or Diploma required;
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Registered Nurse licensure in Florida is required.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience or prior experience with DJJ, IDD, or psychiatric populations in a group home or residential facility.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.
• Ability to complete a two‑week new‑hire orientation (Mon‑Fri 9:00a‑5:00p). Orientation offered in Orlando.
• Pass pre‑employment medical screenings, including drug test, physical, and TB test.
• Pass Level2 background screening with the State of Florida.
• Proficiency in nursing assessment skills and basic software programs.
