Registered Nurse – IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

IMC/PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse

Provide specialized nursing care for patients in a stepdown or IMC environment, focusing on those with complex needs such as dysrhythmias, sepsis, cardiopulmonary conditions, and high oxygen requirements. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer and manage various infusion medications including dopamine, levophed, Cardizem, heparin, Precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and Nicardipine.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and response to treatments, ensuring safety and efficacy.
• Collaborate with educators and healthcare team members to deliver individualized patient care.
• Document patient progress, medication administration, and clinical observations accurately.
• Respond promptly to clinical changes and escalate concerns as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Active ACLS certification required; BLS preferred.
• Proven experience working in IMC, PCU, or stepdown units with complex patient populations.
• Strong understanding of cardiac monitoring and infusion therapy.
• Ability to perform detailed patient assessments and documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
