Position: Wound Care LPN Jobs

About the Role

Wound Care Center Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider provides wound-related and basic nursing care to patients in the center, following all policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in vein clinic as assigned after training
  • Assist with intake and discharge
  • Provide assistance with case management under RN direction
  • Gather patient information
  • Gather necessary equipment and supplies for RN or provider
  • Report quality of care issues to Clinical Nurse Manager
  • Communicate with team members regarding therapeutic interventions
  • Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy related duties after completing required training
  • May perform hyperbaric safety director duties after training
  • Serve as Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with policy
  • Perform other delegated duties
Required Education, Experience and Credentials
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate from accredited practical nursing program/state approved program
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in state of practice, to be maintained
  • Two or more years experience as LPN/LVN, including at least one year in SNF or LTACH setting
  • Wound care experience preferred

  • Computerized nursing systems knowledge
Physical Demands
  • Stationary position for extended periods (4+ hours)
  • Viewing computer screen extended periods (4+ hours)
  • Keying frequently on computer (4+ hours)
  • Moving items up to 20 lbs
  • Moving items up to 75 lbs with equipment assistance
  • Pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, touching
Work Environment

Normal office environment, primarily indoors, patient care environment. Exposure to hazards such as blood borne pathogens, toxic chemicals, flammable gases, mechanical equipment, moving objects.
