Job SummaryThe Quality Control (QC) Lead will directly support the National Manager at Dream Fields Massachusetts in Tyngsborough, MA. This position will help monitor and validate QC Technicians' performance, report data and insights to the National Manager, and work cross-functionally with other departments as needed to identify or support corrective actions or other continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities- Monitor and coach QC Technicians to inspect products before, during, and/or after the manufacturing process to ensure incoming or outgoing products align with company and legal standards. This may include raw materials, work‑in‑process materials, and/or finished goods.
- Verify QC Technicians' work adheres to established company processes and standards.
- Collect, verify, and accurately report QC Technicians' data quarterly (every 2 hours). Monitor KPIs and promptly report key insights or recommendations to National Manager.
- Communicate performance‑related feedback to National Manager, identifying and facilitating opportunities for retraining as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable cannabis regulations as well as Dream Fields' internal specifications, policies, and procedures. Internally communicate quality‑ or compliance‑related issues and guidance to all necessary/affected parties in a clear, effective, urgent manner.
- This includes but is not limited to twice‑daily checks of environmental conditions.
- Assist National Manager with identifying, documenting, and following up on corrective actions.
- Support documentation and communication of Nonconformance Reports and Deviations as needed.
- Collaborate with others to contribute to error reduction and process enhancements.
- Foster and drive a cross‑departmental sense of shared responsibility for quality outcomes.
- Follow and monitor others' conformance to company standard operating procedures (SOPs). Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support SOP revisions as needed.
- Conduct or support internal audits to identify, track, and correct process deviations or product‑related deficiencies, ensuring accurate and thorough recordkeeping.
- As needed, oversee or execute product tests or experiments and report resulting data necessary to drive decisions in line with company objectives.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have reliable transportation.
- Meticulous attention to detail – must be able to closely inspect product to identify defects, count and transcribe numerical data, and review/verify product labeling with high accuracy.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office – must be comfortable reading, comprehending, and editing spreadsheets, SOPs, and other technical documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to professionally and effectively coach and collaborate with others, effectively follow and provide instructions, and ask questions as necessary to fulfill roles and expectations.
- Ability to maintain and enforce a high level of cleanliness, organization, and sanitary work environment standards.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision‑making.
- Problem‑solving skills – skilled at making pertinent observations, collecting necessary data or insights, and proposing solutions to manufacturing defects in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Must be quickly adaptable and open to change.
- Knowledge of and ability to enforce workplace health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of and ability to enforce Good Manufacturing Practices – the environmental and other manufacturing conditions necessary to achieve safe and high‑quality cannabis products.
- HS Diploma or GED.
- At least one of the following must apply. Both are preferred.
- Experience in a quality control or quality assurance role in cannabis or a similarly highly‑regulated industry.
