The Research Scientist II, Downstream Process Development Science will be responsible for assisting in the development of purification parameters to support protein manufacturing. The position will be responsible for general lab support, executing projects within the laboratory, writing study/research plans, and summarizing data to clients and colleagues via technical reports.

- Perform routine purification of mAb and non-mAb proteins using standard chromatographic techniques (HPLC, AKTA, or similar).
- Develop new purification procedures using chromatographic and other techniques.
- Perform filtration process development studies (depth filtration, viral filtration, ultrafiltration and diafiltration, UF/DF).
- Perform in-process analytical testing to evaluate the biochemical properties of purified biomolecules (SDS-PAGE, UPLC, etc.).
- Provide general lab support and management.
- Communicate project updates and technical reports to supervisor and senior level management.
- Identify and promptly troubleshoot technical issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience with protein purification using standard biochemical techniques (HPLC, AKTA, or similar), or
- Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with a minimum 0-2 years’ experience with protein purification using standard biochemical techniques (HPLC, AKTA, or similar).
- Experience in mAb purification, HPLC, SDS-PAGE.
- Experience with depth filtration and tangential flow filtration (TFF).
- Must pass a background check.
- Must pass a drug screen.
- May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening.
$68,000-$85,000/yr.
Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
