Overview
The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a Child Youth and Family (CYF) Case Management Supervisor, assigned to the Quincy Site Office. The role focuses on Quincy DMH Site catchment towns and includes area‑based duties to ensure coverage when necessary, supervision of CYF contracts, and coordination with community service agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provides direct case supervision and consultation to assigned Human Services Coordinator I(s) to ensure compliance with established standards of care for case management.
- Maintains caseload oversight for assigned Human Services Coordinator I(s) to ensure efficient and effective use of resources and appropriate case handling.
- Monitors implementation of case management policies and procedures, especially Individual Service Plan (ISP) regulations, to ensure compliance within established standards of care and timelines.
- Assists with inter/intra–agency service coordination and referrals.
- Coordinates, monitors, and assesses the quality and quantity of case management reviews; facilitates annual and periodic ISP reviews, countersigns ISPs, and ensures implementation of ISP’s as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Plans and schedules client treatment programs, reviews and assesses treatment progress and service delivery, and meets with clients and families to coordinate service delivery and assess treatment results.
- Oversees local Flexible Support and Day Services through contract monitoring measures and tools, including Tableau and other electronic databases, reviewing utilization and IAP development and goal attainment.
- Identifies and raises performance issues to the CYF Director or designee and offers consultation to ensure quality service delivery.
- Maintains data management in MHIS and other electronic systems and authorizes, enrolls, and disenrolls appropriate services in a timely manner.
- Acts as the DMH Service Integration Specialist and liaison to the CBHI Community Service Agencies, collaborates with the CSA Director, and facilitates access to DMH community resources.
- Provides consultation to community partners as the local mental health authority on youth and families with complex clinical and systems needs.
- Conducts meetings with youth and families as needed to assess service effectiveness, discharge readiness, and needs for additional linkages and service referrals.
- Provides consultation to the site's TAY Case Manager and supervises cases for youth under 22.
- Knowledge of psychosocial problems, types and symptoms of mental and emotional disorders.
- Knowledge of counseling principles, practices and techniques, including interviewing, crisis intervention, motivation, and reinforcement.
- Knowledge of programs and services available to the mentally ill population.
- Ability to understand, explain and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards and guidelines governing agency and site activities.
- Ability to make case assessments by examining records, documents, questioning and observing clients.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, providing clear and accurate instructions.
- Capacity to make decisions, act quickly, and maintain composure in stressful or emergency situations.
- Travel required throughout the DMH Southeast Area, including primary duties in Taunton catchment towns and additional travel to cover area‑based duties; travel throughout the state may be required for meetings.
- Current and valid Massachusetts Class D (or equivalent) motor vehicle operator’s license required.
- COVID‑19 and influenza vaccination required in accordance with Title 101 CMR 23.00. Candidates must acknowledge and attest to their vaccination status.
- Licensed independent practitioner.
- Extensive experience in child/adolescent behavioral health services.
- Experience as a supervisor.
- Prior experience as a case manager.
- Graduated from an accredited bachelor’s or higher degree program in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of full‑time case management or equivalent part‑time experience.
