Data Engineer
Application Development/Maintenance (multiple positions) (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy, MA). The qualified individual in this role will be completely hands‑on and will work with cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of data warehouse‑based platforms.
- Work with users across multiple business domains and platforms to analyze, define, and translate their business requirements into technical designs.
- Perform Proof‑of‑Concept activities to establish design patterns.
- Support the entire IMS/Back Office suite of applications and collaborate with various development teams.
- Leverage State Street’s Enterprise Service Platform to facilitate Cloud Migration and Data Services modernization.
- Lead teams in functional/technical aspects for project delivery and guide implementations.
- Collaborate with Snowflake SRE, Azure COE, and Oracle Exadata teams to provide capacity and sizing requirements for various components.
- Review database performance and implement optimization techniques.
- Work independently on Azure, Snowflake, Oracle, COSMOS, and Python component development.
- Provide technical direction for several IMS implementation teams.
- Support QA by reviewing test cases, analyzing defects, and triaging issues with development, QA, and business analysis teams.
- Manage release automation, perform smoke testing for every client onboarding/production release.
- Drive process improvements, application standardization, and streamlining.
- Operate under a hybrid‑remote telecommuting model from within the U.S. as permitted by company policy.
Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field; plus five years of experience as a Software Developer or in a role that involved software development.
Must Have- Proven ability to lead the design and development of data warehouse‑based platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with Azure, Snowflake, COSMOS BD, Python, or Oracle Exadata.
- Experience conducting business analysis and requirement definition workshops with business partners.
- Strong understanding of PL/SQL and SQL tuning.
- Experience with Oracle 11g/12c databases, including PL/SQL development, SQL, and performance tuning.
- Experience working with Exadata appliances.
- Experience on data warehousing projects, including design and development.
$184,995 to $230,000 Annual.
