About the Role

State Street Investment Management's Data, Analytics and AI Services team is seeking an Agentic AI Builder, Officer, to help design, prototype, and implement AI-enabled business workflows across the investment management organization. This is a builder-oriented role for someone who is passionate about learning, experimenting, and rapidly translating business processes into practical agentic AI solutions under strong governance, risk, and control standards.

The successful candidate will use modern agentic AI tools, frameworks, IDEs, large language models, prompt engineering techniques, and reusable skills or tools to iterate quickly, validate business value, and scale responsible AI capabilities across investment, product, client, finance, and operations functions. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, AI product managers, data engineers, platform teams, and control partners to deliver high-impact AI workflow automation in a safe, measurable, and controlled manner.

Key Responsibilities

* Partner with business stakeholders and AI product managers to understand business workflows, pain points, decision processes, and measurable outcomes.

* Rapidly prototype, test, and implement agentic AI workflows that translate business processes into practical, scalable AI-enabled solutions.

* Design and build AI agents, multi-agent workflows, and semi-autonomous systems that operate on top of approved data products, semantic layers, and enterprise AI platforms.

* Implement human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop controls, monitoring, alerting, escalation paths, and performance measurement to support safe and governed AI adoption.

* Use modern AI-assisted development tools, agentic frameworks, IDEs, prompt engineering methods, and reusable skills or tool libraries to accelerate delivery and business validation.

* Support model and agent testing, validation, performance metrics, token and cost optimization, documentation, and responsible AI governance practices.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, mathematics, or a related quantitative or technical discipline.

* Strong engineering foundation with demonstrated ability to build, experiment, learn quickly, and translate ambiguous business problems into working technical solutions.

* Hands-on interest or experience with generative AI, agentic AI, prompt engineering, AI-assisted development, workflow automation, or adjacent software engineering practices.

* Familiarity with modern AI tools and platforms such as large language models, agent frameworks, AI-enabled IDEs, Git Hub Copilot, Claude Code, Google Gemini Enterprise, AWS Bedrock, or similar technologies.

* Programming experience in Python, SQL, or comparable languages, with the ability to develop prototypes, integrate data sources, test workflows, and collaborate with engineering teams.

* Awareness of AI governance, responsible AI, data controls, model risk, security, auditability, and operational resiliency considerations in a regulated enterprise environment.

* Curiosity, ownership mindset, and a strong desire to grow into a future-forward AI engineer who can learn new tools, frameworks, and business domains quickly.
