Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Flight Operations and Logistics, the Flight Operations Advisor plays a vital role in the Client Services Department. This operations-focused position is responsible for executing day-to-day flight operations on behalf of Magellan Jets while ensuring safety, compliance, and exceptional client experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:As a Flight Operations Advisor, you will be responsible for conducting proactive feasibility checks, monitoring weather and regulations, anticipating potential challenges, and serving as a key liaison between internal teams and external operators. In this role, you’ll ensure every detail of a trip is accurate, safe, and tailored to each client’s preferences, directly contributing to Magellan Jets’ reputation for world-class service.
This includes:
Perform feasibility checks for all trip requests (Charter, Jet Card, and Membership), including aircraft performance, airport/runway restrictions, weather, NOTAMs, and customs/international requirements
Review and manage itinerary changes, ensuring mission safety and operational compliance
Conduct safety background checks on Flight Crews and aircraft prior to trip departures
Lead communication with aircraft operators and oversee active trip flight-following
Proactively identify and resolve flight deviations, collaborating with Aircraft Sourcing, Client Experience, and operators
Provide operational and regulatory guidance to Client Experience and other internal teams
Support training seminars and present operational insights as needed
Represent Flight Operations during daily stand-ups and company-wide meetings
Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, aeronautical science, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and directly related aviation operations experience will be considered
Aviation operations background (dispatch, flight operations, or pilot experience preferred)
Understanding of aircraft performance, FAA regulations, weather impacts, and NOTAMs
Familiarity with customs and international operational requirements
FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate preferred
Strong multitasking and organizational ability
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Customer service focus with a professional, solutions-oriented approach
High attention to detail and operational accuracy
Anticipate and solve problems under pressure
Balance multiple trip operations simultaneously
Ensure mission safety and regulatory compliance at all times
Adapt to flexible scheduling, including weekends and evenings
Work independently and as part of a fast-paced team environment
This position doesn’t have any supervisory responsibilities.
