Overview
The role of a Construction Inspector involves conducting technical field work of intermediate complexity to ensure high standards of quality in every aspect of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of public works infrastructure projects. This includes a diverse range of tasks, from new construction to renovation efforts. The Construction Inspector is responsible for verifying that all work performed aligns not only with the established City standards but also with contract specifications and safety protocols.
Accurate record-keeping is a crucial part of this role, wherein the inspector is required to create detailed reports on all inspections carried out.
- Conduct technical field work of intermediate complexity to ensure quality in construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of public works infrastructure.
- Verify that all work aligns with City standards, contract specifications, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and create detailed reports on all inspections.
- Schedule and conduct inspections at critical phases to guarantee compliance with project drawings and City codes.
- Evaluate construction methods and materials to ensure they meet contractual obligations.
- Communicate findings and enforce compliance by liaising with contractors, subcontractors, and project managers.
- Uphold the integrity of construction projects for the benefit of the community.
Salary/Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 per year
