Job DescriptionASSISTANT PRINCIPAL — QUINCY HIGH SCHOOL
About the PositionAssociate with and under the direction of the Principal in the following areas:
- Improving student achievement through a clear vision for effective classroom instruction
- Ensuring high expectations and support for adults and students at school
- Developing authentic and effective school-parent partnerships
- Completing other related duties assigned by the Superintendent

Professional Qualifications- Master’s degree in educational administration or related field
- Valid Washington state principal certificate
- Proven track record of leading school change for improved student learning
- Demonstrates ability to work in alignment with district and school leaders in support of the Quincy School District Strategic Plan.
- Possesses a genuine understanding of and interest in high school students
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and trust within the administration team and among staff, students, and families
- Understands the role of the school in community and is visibly involved
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all aspects of work
- Understands the challenges of serving the needs of a diverse population
- Incorporates a collaborative leadership style
- Establishes and maintains open and honest communication practices; is a good listener who is approachable to parents and staff
- Shows respect, fairness, compassion, flexibility and a sense of humor in relationships with children and adults
- Possesses a depth of knowledge regarding curriculum, instruction, assessment, technology, special programs, and legal issues
- Manages student discipline in a positive, fair, equitable, and consistent manner
- Demonstrates effective organizational and communication skills including ability to effectively manage building budget and scheduling responsibilities
- Possesses the ability to manage conflicts and solve problems
The base contract includes 215 days of service, exclusive of holidays and vacation.
SalarySalary based on the district administrative salary schedule, current range of $145,163-$161,421 depending on education and experience.
BenefitsHealth insurance benefits for employees working 630 hours or more per year include medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability plans through the School Employee Benefits Board (SEBB). Retirement benefits are provided through the WA State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS).
Paid leave benefits include 10 sick days, 5 paid per diem days, and 3 personal leave days. Benefits may be prorated based upon date of hire/FTE.
