Job Description & How to Apply Below
Water/Wastewater Operator
We're looking for a dependable, safety-conscious Water/Wastewater Operator to join our facility operations team. You'll monitor and control treatment processes, perform facility maintenance, run lab samples, and communicate data and equipment issues to the team. This is a hands-on role with a collaborative culture — and we're willing to train the right candidate who hasn't worked in the water industry before.
WhatYou'll Do
- Monitor and control facility processes through sampling and lab testing; interpret data and make process adjustments as needed
- Perform facility maintenance — housekeeping, equipment monitoring, work orders, calibration, and keeping property clean and operational
- Monitor SCADA systems regularly to track all equipment and facility processes
- Input data accurately into the facility data management system
- Respond to callouts during on-call rotation weeks including weekends and after-hours alarms
- Communicate issues, data, and equipment problems to fellow operators and the Operations Supervisor in a timely manner
- Participate in weekly meetings and provide facility status updates
- Assist the lab with sample collection and analysis as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite — Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams; ability to learn new software quickly
- Good driving record and ability to safely operate company trucks
- Ability to work outdoors and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to join a monthly on-call rotation including weekend coverage and after-hours callouts
- Willingness to work overtime as needed for construction projects or equipment issues
- Ability to lift 10–15 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Must live within 30–45 minutes of the central facility
- Strong commitment to safety protocols — including working with chemicals
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work the full scheduled day
- Wastewater or Drinking Water operator certification
- Prior experience in water/wastewater or a related utility environment
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, motors, hand tools, and power tools
