Job SummaryThe Maintenance Reliability Manager oversees maintenance management and engineering technical expertise across all functional maintenance areas. The role analyzes, recommends, and implements initiatives to improve safety, regulatory compliance, production & productivity, equipment availability, and budgetary performance through engineering improvement and sustainability programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the maintenance team, applying best maintenance practices to maximize equipment reliability and resource availability.
- Analyze key operating indicators such as Equipment Availability, Performance Efficiency, Quality Rate, Failure Rate, and Maintenance Cost metrics, targeting predefined efficiency levels.
- Develop and institutionalize maintenance processes, including planning, scheduling, and execution of work orders, preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, and root‑cause failure analyses.
- Coordinate with purchasing and vendors to negotiate components, equipment, and contract services, ensuring cost/benefit analysis and budget compliance.
- Oversee maintenance projects from concept to implementation, supervise contractors, and document outcomes.
- Mentor and develop subordinates, preparing techno‑business correspondence and presenting initiatives to senior management.
- Maintain equipment historical data, optimize spare‑parts carrying costs, and develop replacement analysis programs for capital equipment.
- Ensure compliance with mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, regulatory, and civil equipment integrity plans aligned with long‑term strategic initiatives.
- Lead reliability engineering programs (RCM, MTBF, OEE, TPM, etc.) and make decisions based on highest priority objectives.
- Communicate maintenance status to key stakeholders and resolve queries regarding technical and business aspects.
- Identify and manage maintenance constraints, eliminating or mitigating them across manufacturing processes, budgets, and schedules.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 7years of experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Minimum 5years supervising personnel, preferably in a union environment.
- Demonstrated experience implementing organized maintenance management and reliability improvement programs.
US‑Only. Frequent walking, standing, and sitting in manufacturing and office environments. Occasionally lifting, carrying, or pulling objects up to 50lbs. Approx. 60% office and 40% plant. Not a remote position.
SalaryAnnual Salary Range: $110k – $130k.
