The Team Leader Production (TLP) role develops future leaders. It is a supervisory position where you will help your production team reach target goals, manage day‑to‑day operations, and identify areas of improvement in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities- Manage and ensure the safety of a production team of 15–50 people per shift.
- Attain production and quality goals.
- Oversee continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
- Guide production resources, materials, processes, and equipment to meet schedules and goals.
- Create an engaged, team‑oriented work environment to improve business results.
- Monitor production to maintain quality, productivity, and cost standards.
- Provide team member training for effective and safe job performance.
- Assist in supervising sanitation operations to maintain a clean and food‑safe environment.
- Enforce plant rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Evaluate team member performance and provide guidance for improvement.
- Participate in plant and company safety programs, including lock‑out/tag‑out, personal protective equipment, and confined space entry.
- Support plant and company safety programs.
- Co‑coordinate with maintenance for equipment uptime.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree; or minimum 4 years of relevant industry work experience or supervisory/management experience.
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Self‑motivated, able to multi‑task and lead others.
- Regularly able to lift/move up to 25 lb and occasionally up to 50 lb.
- Ability to work various shifts (Weekdays, weekends, day, swing, grave) as needed.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of plant equipment and safety preferred.
- Food‑processing experience preferred.
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, feel, reach; taste and smell; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; and lift/move 25 lb regularly, 50 lb occasionally. Must have good visual abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
Work EnvironmentExposure to moving mechanical parts; extreme cold, heat, vibration; wet/humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; electrical shock risk; moderate noise.
CompensationEstimated annual range: $71,410 - $107,110.
