Job Description SummaryThis position supports plant production operations by covering a wide variety of tasks which require basic training and direction by the supervisor. Tasks may occur in any area of the plant, raw product storage, or potato fields.
Job Responsibilities- Operate simple equipment including powered pallet jack and tote bin dump.
- Perform setup and breakdown of tote bins and pallets within the plant.
- Fill, rake and move tote bins.
- Properly stack knocked down totes and pallets.
- Repeatedly lift and stack cases of finished product as assigned.
- Maintain good housekeeping in assigned area including sweeping, shoveling potatoes, raking, vacuuming, hosing, scraping/scrubbing, painting, pulling vines, shoveling snow or sand as directed.
- Rework damaged or restricted cases and bags of product.
- Clean, sanitize, and rinse production and packaging equipment during plant clean up.
- Work on painting projects.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
- Exposed to a noisy environment with temperature ranges from
-20°F to 90°F, including hot and cold conditions. - Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 12 hours per workday: loud noise, excessive heat/cold, wet/slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells, allergies.
- Capability for repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements.
- Ability to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance at ground level and high places.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
- May need to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products.
- Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Lock-out/Tag-out, Powered pallet jack, and Sanitation certifications are required. Unqualified candidates will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
- Effective communication in English (verbal and written). Ability to understand instructions and follow directions.
