The Technician will be responsible for performing structured cabling installations and server rack deployments in a data center environment. This is a hands‑on role requiring attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a strong work ethic.
Technical training will be provided on the job; prior experience is not required. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety‑conscious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team under the direction of on‑site Salute Leadership.
Our team handles a wide range of technical projects, with a primary focus on rack movements at this site. Our current work includes unloading, staging, and securing racks, ensuring they are properly leveled. Some projects may require additional training, such as cabling etc.
The primary work site is in Boydton, VA.
Responsibilities- Install, route, and secure structured cabling according to project specifications
- Assist with server rack deployments and related hardware setup
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Complete tasks assigned by the Team Lead ina timelyandaccuratemanner
- Support quality assurance efforts by adhering to installation standards
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and supervisors
- Ability to follow precise instructions
- Perform material movement including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process
- Perform Data Center pre‑cabling to industry standards
- Detailed physical inventory tracking and staging
- Timely responsiveness via MS Outlook, MS Teams, text, and/or phone
- Knowledge of how to properlyutilizepower tools is required
- Ability to read and understandcablingmaps
- Ability to work at different heights, in confined spaces, and on different surfaces
- Ability to use mobile application technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Gainproficiencyin workplace IT systems for reporting, timecards, expense entry, and the execution of project tasks. Examples Sales Force , ADP, Expensify)
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand forlong periodsof time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
