Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director of Heavy Civil Operations to provide leadership and oversight for a growing heavy civil construction division. This individual will be responsible for driving operational performance, supporting project teams, developing personnel, and ensuring the successful execution of projects from preconstruction through completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction with experience as a Project Manager, Estimator, Superintendent, or a combination of these roles. This is a high-level leadership position focused on managing operations, mentoring teams, and helping guide the strategic growth of the division.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for heavy civil construction operations.
  • Support estimating, project management, and field operations teams.
  • Monitor project performance related to safety, schedule, quality, and profitability.
  • Assist with business development, project pursuits, and client relationships.
  • Develop and mentor project managers, superintendents, and operational staff.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and division growth.
  • Review project budgets, schedules, manpower needs, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements and best practices.
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with company standards and client expectations.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager, Estimator, Superintendent, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong background in mass grading, excavation, and underground utilities.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in both field and office environments.
