Position Summary
The Claims Customer Service Representative is an entry-level opportunity ideal for individuals looking to build a career in the insurance and healthcare industry. In this role, you will support policyholders and providers by answering questions about claims, coverage, and benefits while developing foundational knowledge in health insurance. This position offers hands‑on training, exposure to claims processes, and the opportunity to grow within a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
Responsibilities- Respond to inbound and outbound calls related to health insurance claims, benefits, and policy inquiries
- Verify and explain coverage details, including supplemental health plans, exclusions, and non-covered services
- Provide updates on claim status, payments, and required documentation
- Resolve customer issues efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accuracy
- Navigate multiple systems and applications to research and document customer interactions
- Meet or exceed established performance metrics, including call handling time, abandonment rate, and service levels
- Perform administrative and clerical support tasks as needed
- Maintain compliance with company policies, data privacy standards (HIPAA where applicable), and regulatory requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of customer service experience (call center or healthcare environment preferred)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to multitask and navigate multiple systems in a fast‑paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
- Typing speed of approximately 50+ WPM
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Physical Requirements
Primarily sedentary work involving extended periods of sitting and computer use.
Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and navigating systems.
Ability to communicate clearly via phone and electronic channels.
Requires the ability to remain focused in a high-volume call environment.
Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross‑functional partnership.
