Teacher​/Pre K Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 4K Teacher / Pre‑K Teacher.

• Provide instructional, assessment, and positive behavioral support strategies to ensure educational excellence in a Head Start classroom for 4‑5‑year‑old children.
• Work collaboratively with family members, an Assistant Teacher, and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities.
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment, including full supervision of children at all times in accordance with Head Start and childcare licensing requirements.
• Create developmentally, linguistically, culturally, and age‑appropriate classroom experiences.
• Maintain organized classroom arrangement, materials, and displays conducive to learning.
• Document children’s progress through ongoing observation and direct assessment activities, using data to plan and individualize curriculum.
• Collaborate with Family Services staff to support families in implementing sound family life practices, extending learning into the home, and meeting attendance expectations.

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with at least twelve (12) credits in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience teaching preschool‑aged children.
• Either a Department of Public Instruction (DPI) license for Early Childhood, or a Wisconsin Registry certificate, obtained within three (3) months of employment.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid and Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) within six (6) months of hire.
• Ability to travel locally or long‑distance up to 10% of the time for work‑related meetings and functions.
• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
• Successful completion of a health physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen, and maintenance of required Physical/TB screen requirements.
• Computer literacy (Google Docs, MS Office Suite).
• Bilingual Spanish‑English an advantage.
