As a Power Distribution Field Service Representative, your main focus will be on:
- Installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing customer equipment (including electrical switch gear, HVAC/CRAC systems, UPS systems, PDUs, BMS, PLCs, drives, security, access control, CCTV, and fire alarm/suppression systems).
- Performing warranty work, start-up services, and preventive/scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
- Testing, calibrating, and adjusting equipment using technical tools and software.
- Instructing customers and sales personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Providing technical support, product training, and application guidance.
- Analyzing and solving complex equipment problems, consulting with engineering as needed.
- Documenting all service activities, including technical reports and customer sign-offs.
- Maintaining service tools, equipment, and records.
- Leading or assisting with small field service projects (e.g., upgrades, modernization).
- Advising customers on best practices, upgrades, and new services.
- Supporting sales by identifying new opportunities during site visits.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- 2–4 years of relevant mechanical, electrical, or power distribution service experience.
- Experience with critical systems infrastructure (e.g., switch gear, generators, UPS, chillers, fire detection/suppression, building monitoring systems).
- Strong technical knowledge of electronic/electrical components.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical documents, and interpret complex instructions.
- Proficient with computers (email, databases, word processing, spreadsheets).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
