We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our procurement team in Racine County, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, maintain inventory levels, and support production schedules. Candidates must currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Racine County and be able to commute daily.
Relocation assistance is not available, and relocation candidates will not be considered.
- Procure raw materials, components, and indirect supplies to support manufacturing operations.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
- Issue and maintain purchase orders while tracking order status and delivery timelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning teams to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Analyze purchasing data, supplier performance, and market trends to support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Resolve supplier delivery, quality, and invoicing issues in a timely manner.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance teams to support business objectives.
- Maintain accurate procurement records within the ERP/MRP system.
- Participate in supplier evaluations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support inventory management and cycle count activities as needed.
- Minimum 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and procurement best practices.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field.
- Experience sourcing metals, fabricated components, mechanical parts, or manufacturing materials.
- APICS, CPSM, CPM, or other purchasing/supply chain certifications.
- Experience supporting lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Must be able to commute to Racine County, WI on a regular basis.
- Candidates requiring relocation will not be considered.
- Ability to work onsite and interact with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and production teams as needed.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Racine,WI.
