The Purchasing Specialist sources raw materials, components, and supplies to support ongoing manufacturing operations; negotiates pricing, contracts, and delivery terms; monitors inventory levels and coordinates deliveries; analyzes market trends and supplier performance; collaborates with internal teams; and maintains accurate procurement and inventory records.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Sourcing & Procurement
- Source raw materials, components, and supplies to support ongoing manufacturing operations.
- Negotiate pricing while ensuring adherence to quality standards and technical specifications.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships.
- Negotiate contracts and delivery terms to ensure timely and cost-effective supply.
- Monitor inventory levels to support production needs without overstocking.
- Issue timely purchase orders and coordinate deliveries to maintain optimal inventory flow.
- Stay informed on market trends, pricing shifts, and supplier performance.
- Use data to drive purchasing decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate closely with production, engineering, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement with business needs and timelines.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all purchases, vendor agreements, and inventory transactions.
- Prior purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP or purchasing/inventory management software.
- Familiarity with Acumatica is a plus.
