Job Summary:
The Fabricator/Welder supports departments within the business by designing, supporting and creating custom fixtures and weldments and fabrications, including assembly, R&D, Dyno/Test, components, Aircraft Integration and facility maintenance. Fabrication will support a range of materials including aluminum, steel, plastic and other materials using various equipment such as sheet metal brakes, shears, CNC plasma tables and lasers, TIG welders and other items.
Other responsibilities may include maintenance of test equipment and facilities as assigned.

- Fabrication and welding of equipment, fixtures, and facility support. Infrastructure in support of the engineering, testing, and aircraft integration departments.
- Designs welding fixtures for assemblies and test equipment
- Performs maintenance of test equipment and fixtures
- Reviews weldment design drawings
- Modification of existing or new components as required to meet specified needs.
- Communication (verbal or written) of project status to engineering and leadership.
- Communicate clearly, meet expectations, provide feedback, and resolve conflicts was they arise.
- Performance consistent with the standards consistent with Delta Hawk's Corporate Culture statement and values.
Qualifications
Required:
- At least 5 years welding experience using TIG on aluminum and thin stainless plate / tubing.
- Knowledgeable in manual flat sheetwork and forming of same.
- Experience with CNC plasma table/laser cutter (or similar).
- Experience in creating detailed weldments as well as holding fixtures for same (e.g. exhaust manifolds, aerospace engine mounts, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail in all fabrication tasks including reading and interpreting drawing intent, troubleshooting, and final assembly work.
- Desire and ability to work in a collaborative teamwork environment both within the team and across departments on a regular basis.
- Ability to create electronic drawings as needed to document projects.
- Passionate about learning and a strong “can do” attitude.
- Ability to lift, hold, and position weights up to 45 lbs. intermittently (two to four times per hour over a work shift) as well as work in various positions as needed for typical fabrication tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Solidworks, Onshape or similar CAD software.
- Experience with working with other materials such as 4130, Inconel, or steel.
- Experience with other welding processes such as stick or OA.
- Facility maintenance and skills including electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, modifications, vehicle and general construction techniques.
Working Conditions
Work will be conducted in a mechanical shop and engine test cell environment with standard precautions required consistent with welding, fabrication, assembly, and test environments.
