Aluminum MIG & TIG Welder

API Heat Transfer seeks Al MIG & TIG Welders for the first shift at its Racine location. The role involves welding aluminum pressure vessels, assembling finished products from blueprints, and maintaining tools and production equipment.

• Perform work in a safe manner.
• Weld aluminum pressure vessels, airtight using GMAW pulse spray and GTAW welding.
• Adjust parameter settings for different material thicknesses.
• Learn robot welding set‑up and operations.
• Assemble finished products from blueprints to the specified dimensions.
• Produce products within tolerance.
• Maintain tools and equipment for assembly operations.
• Maintain an organized work area.
• Comply with all ISO 9001 quality standards, policies, and procedures of API.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification from an accredited technical school is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Examples of GTAW and GMAW proficiency.
• Mechanical aptitude and functional knowledge of hand tools.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and measurements.

• Standing:
  Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
• Walking:
  Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
• Lifting and Carrying:
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
• Pushing and Pulling:
  Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
• Repetitive Motions:
  Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
• Manual Dexterity:
  Good hand‑eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
• Climbing:
  Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
• Visual and Hearing Requirements:
  • Vision sufficient (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges.
  • Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
• Environmental Tolerance:
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions).
  • Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Qualified candidates will be asked to complete a weld test to D1.2 AWS (American Welding Society, Structural Welding Code – Aluminum).
