Numerical Control Programmer

The NC Programmer focuses on day‑to‑day tasks required to sustain and improve the machining of critical components for existing Twin Disc products, including NC program creation, specifying tooling, and optimizing machining processes (set‑up, tool path, feeds and speeds, etc.). This position works closely with Machinists on the shop floor.

Education and/orExperience:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other Technical Field preferred; or 2‑5 years of specifically relevant work experience acceptable.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM, N/C programming, tool design, process design, and properties and techniques of metal cutting and heat treating.
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes required; experience with gear manufacturing and experience with low volume, high tolerance products is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of CAD and CAM, NC programming, tool and process design is required; general familiarity with Data Acquisition Systems.
- Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD systems.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to lead discussions, make presentations, and problem solve.
- Strong interpersonal relationship and listening skills, with the ability to work well with others required.
- Ability to convey sense of urgency to others in a cooperative and courteous manner at all times.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills to a variety of situations.
- Lean manufacturing concepts, such as Manufacturing Cell creation, SMED, PQPR, and Standard Work.
- Work location is in Racine, WI.
- Manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Master Cam, Draft Sight, and Fanuc Controls.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills.
