Lead Assembler Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day‑to‑day operation by leading and directing a group of assemblers to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet production schedules.
- Read and follow specifications and other instructions to build and assemble products, examining completed work for defects and verifying conformance to work orders.
- Provide a thorough technical understanding of production and assembly practices.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and equipment, following prescribed safety procedures.
- Act as liaison and point of contact for general assembly and quality control questions.
- Train new employees and instruct all staff on the proper use of equipment and tools.
- Communicate with Managers, Planning and Customer Service using strong verbal and written skills.
- Provide input to improve assembly processes with a focus on safety, quality, on‑time delivery and cost.
- High School Degree or GED required
- 5+ years of experience in assembly; leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with electronic assembly required.
- Lean 101 training preferred; experience in a Lean environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read prints and measure parts while maintaining a customer‑focused mentality.
- Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekend shifts as needed.

- Manufacturing environment; may require lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Must pass an audiogram test; aerospace department may require vision tests.
- Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina are required.
- Must wear personal protective gear most of the day.
