Mig Welder

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for welding the assembly of products and pieces, working collaboratively to ensure projects are completed on time and to high standards of quality. MIG Welders should be able to read drawings, take measurements, plan layouts, and read a measuring tape. They should also be able to weld, tack, and finish projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and welding specifications.
• Select and set up welding equipment and materials.
• Perform various welding techniques (mostly MIG, some TIG) to weld metal parts together.
• Inspect welds for quality and defects.
• Support other Weld Technicians to enhance overall production.
• Prepare parts and pieces to facilitate your work or that of others.
• Grind and finish welds to meet quality standards based on project needs
• Perform maintenance on equipment relevant to your position.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Always wear proper personal protective equipment.
• Demonstrate ownership of your work as if you are self-employed.
• Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor, using clean and respectful language and attire.

Minimum Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in welding, preferred
• Proven trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, practices, and tools used in electronic and manufacturing maintenance
• Knowledge of safety requirements, including proper use of safety equipment and safety precautions.
• Knowledge of welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG, TIG, controlled atmosphere, and plasma cutting), tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of non-destructive inspection techniques.
• Skill in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures and structures.
