About the Position

Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides critical care to patients in urgent or emergent conditions. The RN works in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment, delivering immediate care to patients suffering from injuries, illnesses, or trauma. Responsibilities include assessment, triage, treatment, collaboration, monitoring, documentation, patient & family communication, infection control, crisis management, and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and Patient Assessment: Perform initial assessments of patients presenting in the ER, evaluate patient history, conduct physical assessments, and collect vital signs.
  • Emergency Care and Treatment: Administer medications, fluids, and treatments; perform wound care, splinting, suturing, CPR, ACLS, trauma care, and assist in resuscitation.
  • Collaboration with Medical Team: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other team members to develop care plans; assist with diagnostic testing.
  • Monitoring and Documentation: Continuously monitor patients’ conditions and document all assessments and treatments accurately in the EHR.
  • Patient and Family Communication: Provide explanations, offer emotional support, advocate for patients’ needs, and coordinate care with other departments.
  • Infection Control and Safety: Follow infection control protocols, use PPE, maintain a safe environment, and respond to biohazardous situations.
  • Crisis Management: Handle a range of emergencies, maintain composure, prioritize care, provide discharge instructions, and educate patients.
  • Teamwork and Mentorship: Collaborate with ER staff and mentor new or less experienced nurses.
