Job DescriptionUnder the direct supervision of the Director and/or Charge nurse, performs the primary function of a registered nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients in both the inpatient & outpatient settings; responsible for meeting standards of Wound Care practice set forth by regulatory agencies & nursing practice in the management of all assigned patients; assists medical staff with the development and implementation of wound treatment through consultation;
plans & participates in performance improvement review activities; acts within the; guidelines of federal & state laws, Joint Commission standards, and professional & ethical practice.
Job Description
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred.
- Completion of an accredited wound care course/training preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years medical surgical nursing experience required
- Knowledge of comprehensive wound management including wound assessment, formulation of treatment plan, recommendation of appropriate wound dressing, documentation, evaluation, education, data collection, surveillance and outcome data required.
- Knowledge of wound related products & procedures required
Licensure/ Certification:
- Active RN license to work in South Carolina required
- Current BLS required
- Certification in Wound Care preferred
