The Transportation Manager supervises daily transportation activities and personnel to ensure functions are performed according to our standards and guidelines.

You will work from Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM with the ability to be flexible on work hours/shifts.

You will:

• Manage a cohesive, collaborative team, including supervisors, dispatchers, clerks, routers, and drivers
• Maximize the use of our transportation options: box trucks, tractors, and trailers
• Creates and manages Driver Qualification (DQ) files
• Manages Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). delivery routes that are cost-effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines and ensure all drivers comply with company, federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards, quality, and satisfaction
• Utilize Roadnet application to ensure delivery costs are held to the company-expected run rates
• Optimize routing schedules while strongly emphasizing driver safety

You have:

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of distribution, logistics, transportation, or related work experience
• Ability to create, manage, and calculate routes
• Experience with DQ file compliance
• Knowledge of the Chicago Area and Wisconsin
• Proficiency in Excel and Word and experience with Road Net is a plus
• Union environment experience is a big plus
