The Transportation Manager supervises daily transportation activities and personnel to ensure functions are performed according to our standards and guidelines.
You will work from Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM with the ability to be flexible on work hours/shifts.
You will:
- Manage a cohesive, collaborative team, including supervisors, dispatchers, clerks, routers, and drivers
- Maximize the use of our transportation options: box trucks, tractors, and trailers
- Creates and manages Driver Qualification (DQ) files
- Manages Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). delivery routes that are cost-effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines and ensure all drivers comply with company, federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards, quality, and satisfaction
- Utilize Roadnet application to ensure delivery costs are held to the company-expected run rates
- Optimize routing schedules while strongly emphasizing driver safety
You have:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of distribution, logistics, transportation, or related work experience
- Ability to create, manage, and calculate routes
- Experience with DQ file compliance
- Knowledge of the Chicago Area and Wisconsin
- Proficiency in Excel and Word and experience with Road Net is a plus
- Union environment experience is a big plus
