Overview
Position Title:
Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Wage: $22.00 - $25.00/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours:
6:00am - 2:30pm
Shipping and Receiving Clerk opportunity in Racine, WI. This is a potential to hire position for 1st shift.
Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and verify accuracy
- Package finished products into containers, boxes, or crates, ensuring proper labeling, sealing, and stacking for storage or shipment
- Perform quality checks and inspections on items produced; resolve packaging issues promptly
- Maintain inventory accuracy by checking stock levels and updating records
- Organize and prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines and ensure on-time delivery of inbound and outbound shipments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all company packaging guidelines
- Operate company vehicles to transport materials, products, and personnel between locations
- Conduct deliveries and pickups of materials, products, or supplies to and from customers, suppliers, or designated locations
- Plan and optimize driving routes for efficiency and timely deliveries
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks; report any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate records of driving activities, including mileage logs, delivery receipts, and inspection reports
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects, as well as standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in performing tasks such as material handling, packaging, and delivery/pickup activities
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to prioritize tasks, plan routes, and meet delivery schedules while maintaining efficiency and productivity
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and suppliers, providing updates and addressing inquiries or concerns
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges or obstacles encountered while driving or performing general labor duties
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and work environments, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to take on different tasks or responsibilities as needed
- Reliable attendance and punctuality with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments to achieve common goals and ensure smooth operations
- Ability to operate a 26’ box truck and 20’ flatbed truck (non-CDL) as well as a pickup truck
