Demonstrates the ability to work independently and within a team environment. Performs various tasks to prepare and list items to be sold online and shipped to customers across the country. Examine, test, and evaluate various networking electronic equipment to determine value and functionality. Utilizes innovation and expertise to assist with special projects, including training and mentoring of new associates.
Principal Duties- Feed books and media items onto a commercial conveyor belt system
- Accurately represent items in photographs and listings, including noting damage
- Determine merchandise value based on quality, trends, brands, and price guides
- Move materials as needed throughout the warehouse facility to support shipping and transportation in loading/unloading area
- Use software and hardware to properly dispose of data-bearing devices following appropriate procedures
- Organize and maintain inventory by stocking and stowing listed product
- Analyze, interpret and respond to customer inquiries regarding orders, order status, pricing, item descriptions, inventory and shipping/receiving
- Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools and packing supplies
- Utilize shipping software to ensure items are shipped using cost-effective carriers
- Assist with training and mentoring of associates
- Maintain production environment standards with a positive, team-focused approach
- Maintain organized and clean work area, follow safety procedures, use PPE as needed
- Meet or exceed daily productivity goals and rotate between stations regularly
- Safely operate pallet jack (forklift experience a plus) and follow all safety guidelines
- Basic reading, writing and math skills
- Computer skills with a functional knowledge of word processing and using email and internet software
- Forklift certification, if required at site
- Must be able to function independently in a work setting
- Operates equipment and/or machinery correctly, safely and responsibly
- Willingness and ability to adhere to all policies and procedures, Kaizen guidelines, safety and security regulations
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
- Contributes to the Goodwill Mission as a highly productive and collaborative member of the team
- Accurately track personal production as directed
- Able to stand and/or walk for the duration of work time (up to 10 hours)
- Able to bend and reach to work with merchandise
- Able to lift, push or pull a maximum of 75 pounds
- Manual dexterity to operate material handling equipment
- Able to grasp material for inspection and sorting activities
- Able to visually observe merchandise and markings
- Able to work independently
